Knowledge about The Work of The Professions within The Welfare Society

Applied Welfare Research does research and contributes knowledge about the opportunities and challenges presented by the welfare society, in terms of the general population, the professions and welfare institutions.

Research focuses on current key issues in practice, where the professions, end users, administrative bodies, technologies and mechanisms of inclusion and exclusion form a complex pattern of interactions.

Centre for Applied Welfare Research does research and disseminates knowledge in collaboration with professional and other relevant agencies in the surrounding community, such as municipalities, institutions and voluntary organisations.

Research projects are based on the needs and experiences of professional workers, or of end users (children, adolescents, older people), in order to generate knowledge of use to the professions.

The Centre’s researchers collaborate closely with practitioners to formulate and design research projects. This ensures that the knowledge produced is perceived as relevant and directly applicable to practice.
