Requirements and Assignments

Detailed description of the requirements and assignments of the course.

Venue

The course is held at University College Lillebaelt, UCL Campus Odense every second week between 9.15 and 15.30

The exchange students are expected to participate in the course when possible in relation to other study activities stated in the learning agreement and agreed upon with local international coordinator. If the student cannot participate in the course days agreed the student is responsible for reporting this to secretary Cristina Lerche at czlh@ucl.dkand to the international coordinator the student is in contact with.

Assignment

Each student must make a power point presentation of approx. 10-15 minutes. After the oral presenation the power points are uploaded to the platform Fronter.

The content should include:

  • a presentation of the student’s country and culture
  • a presentation of the student’s healthcare system
  • a presentation of the student’s educational system in relation to the student’s profession.

Additional assignment – optional – individual

Students who are not able to participate in the entire course (e.g. participate in only 3 course days) can compensate by drafting a written assignment.

A report not exceeding 10 pages must be made. The content must focus on reflections concerning:

  • description of the Danish welfare system, similarities/differences in relation to the student’s home country
  • description of the Danish monoprofessional education, similarities/differences in relation to the student’s home country
  • reflections on mono-professionalism versus multi-professionalism
  • reflections on experiences acquired during clinical placement in Denmark
  • reference list

The assignment is handed in by e-mail to the international coordinator by further agreement.

The assignment must be approved and the student then receives 3 ECTS points.

Additional assignment – optional – group of 2-4 students – maybe groups consist of more professions

  • description of the Danish welfare system, similarities/differences in relation to the student’s home country
  • description of the Danish mono professional education, similarities/differences in relation to the student’s home country
  • reflections on mono-professionalism versus multi-professionalism
  • reflections on experiences acquired during clinical placement in Denmark
  • reference list

The assignment is handed in by e-mail to the international coordinator by further agreement.

The assignment must be approved and the student then receives 3 ECTS points.
