Learn how to enrich daily lives of children and youth with special needs.
The BISI semester is organized in multidisciplinary collaboration between pedagogy, technology and design. The three educational institutions involved are EAL (Academy of Professional Higher Education, Odense), AAU (Aalborg University, Esbjerg), and UCL, University College Lillebaelt, Social Education in Odense.
Achieve knowledge of how to work with Danish welfare-technology, design and communication together with educational stake-holders and institutions.
The student will contribute to think in strategies of how to develop and design technological solutions for users with disabilities. There is particular focus on social interaction and personal expression, i.e. developing, supporting and strengthening relationships, communication and individual expression.
Based on the individual user and in cooperation with the pedagogical practice and pedagogical companies, the potential for development will be identified, so the possibility for producing an end product as a prototype can help to help the user to feel heard, seen and understood.
International and Danish students will be included in groups to develop solutions to the users' specific problems.
